What causes difficulty in breathing along with back pain?

I am trying to figure out what has been bothering me for the last 3 years....Here are my symptoms: trouble breathing (to relieve I will stick out my check and tilt my head back...I take deep breaths), get a pain in my upper back to the left of my spine (near my clavicle), pain on the right side of my right breast. It is an uncomfortable feeling...can last a day and goes away. I have been checked for my heart, lungs, and esophagus. I have had a slightly higher than normal CBC (480 - platelets). I have been diagnosed with a mild case of sleep apnea.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Thanks for consulting him. From what you have described, it looks like a typical case of sleep apnea, and for this you have to get a CT scan done to confirm the diagnosis and to know the level and frequency of obstruction.

Correcting the sleeping position may help get symptomatic cure. You should sleep in a lateral position instead of supine position.

In relation to the pain, it looks like muscular pain so get an analgesic like Zerodol to get better.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Manjunath J.V.
