Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
it has been several days and I have not been able to have a bowel mvement. I also do not have the urge to go but feel like I need to if that makes sense. It was very sudden. I started the Warrior diet about 10 days ago where most of my meals were in the evening. That may be the cause s I was consuming large amounts of food at night. I have tried magnesium Citrate, colace and even checking manually but I do not feel an feces in the rectum. Do I have an onstruction?
Maybe you are suffering from constipation due to altered bowel habits or low fiber diet or less physical activity.
Eat high fiber diet, drink plenty of water. Avoid spicy food, alcohol and smoking and do regular exercise. Use syrup Lactulose 30 ml at night for one week. The dose may be increased depending on the response. Use Movicol sachets in one glass of water oral feeding.
If impacted stools not responding to regular treatment, you may need enema of proctologist or soap water or manual removal. If symptoms not improved, please consult your doctor, he/she will examine and treat you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
