What Causes Difficulty In Bending The Thumb?

In the mornings I have a hard time bending my right thumb. It will bend to a point then it hits a spot like a bump that it has to break over then it starts all over goin the other way? It hurts in the mornings BAD then its stiff with a catch the rest of the day. I m a mechanic who needs and use my hands all day. I need some help please? Oh and I m on oxycodone 4 times a day and it don t help the thumb pain at all. Thank you!

Hi,

Pain and stiffness of the joints that is worse on mornings are usually due to arthritis. There are different types of arthritis, e.g. osteoarthritis or autoimmune (lupus, RA etc).

NSAIDs such as Naproxen, Ibuprofen, Cataflam etc., work better for this type of pain.
