What Causes Difficulty Breathing?

Hi Dr.Dinesh

I have a problem with breathing. I am allergic to dust and I feel breathing difficult. I am using Levolin rotacaps which helps me to catch my breath. but for past 3 weeks, I am continuously using rotacaps as Iam feeling difficulty in breathing. Sometimes I have cough but its dry. I don't have fever.
Also, I recently went under an operation for the treatment of thyroglossal cyst.
Please suggest me what should I do.

Hello
Since you are having asthmatic attacks and livolin rotacaps , provide some relief , but this time you are not getting relief .
Also having cough ( dry in nature , as mentioned in the query) , dry cough is usually due to bronchoconstriction ( this is a characteristic feature of asthma ) .
Recently also operated for thyroglossal cyst but this allergy may be due to dust , mite , fumes , sudden change in temperature , pests , pollen or mold .
As these are certain predisposing factors for an asthmatic patient .
When such case visit I prescribe them to take montelukast+bambuterol ( 10 mg each ) once or twice in day and my patient respond very well .
Since this is a prescription drug so consult your doctor .
However , hot coffee and steam inhalation also act as bronchodilator and provide relief in cough and asthma .
Hope this will useful for you.
