What Causes Difference In Blood Pressure Readings On Both Hands?

My blood pressure in left arm is ok and right arm was less by 20. Both systolic and distolic? I had metacarpal reconstruction in my right hand and tendon harvested from three places in my right forearm on July 7, 2016 and have felt like my arm circulation has been affected. And todays blood pressure verified that. What test is best to have done to find out exactly what is wrong? My hand is worse now than before the surgery. And veins in right arm are visibly rerouting themselves around the scars from the tendon harvesting. Help. Doctor is ordering a Cat and CT scan???

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I think your different blood pressure in both arms is related to reconstructive arm surgery. I think you may be having vasoconstriction in your right arm which is causing higher blood pressure. You may need to do a Doppler ultrasound of arm vessels. Also, an MRI or CT can be done to find the main cause of it.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
