What Causes Diarrhea In An Infant?

My 12 months old daughter is passing semi solid stools 3 times since in 6 hours. Having normal appetite. No vomiting. Looks cheerful. I need to worry about this? She had a vomiting couple of days ago 3 times in 12 hrs and settled down on its own. Then she started having loose stools 3 times a day. But today the frequency increased as I mentioned in first paragraph. Please suggest me.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

The symptoms of your child seem to be related to a gastroenteritis.

I suggest using daily probiotics.

I also suggest to give him fluids and electrolytes solution such as Pedialyte.

I recommend a plain diet with bananas, apple juice and rice.

Hope my answer was helpful.

If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.

Kind regards!
