What Causes Diarrhea And Vomiting After A Tonsillectomy?

My Granddaughter is 5. Had a tonsillectomy about 1 month ago. (very enlarged & grown in according to doctor that removed them). Her appetite is great since surgery. In the past week and 1/2, she s developed diarrhea & vomiting. Was told by pediatrician it was virus. Seemed to be better and cleared up 3 days ago, except she still vomits at least once each day. As of today, vomiting and diarrhea is back too. Vomiting to the extent it comes out her nose (hint of blood too). Just concerned whether it is a possible complication from surgery that could be unforseen....

General & Family Physician 's  Response
It doesnt seem to be the complication of the surgery.
It seems to be a case of viral or bacterial gastroenteritis.
Give her adequate oral rehydration and keep a tab on her vitals.
If her vomitings and diarrhea are not under control and the patients consciousness decreases then pls visit an ER immediatly.
