What Causes Diarrhea And Throbbing Pain In Eyes?

My 24 year old daughter had diarrhea, followed within an hour with a throbbing pain and sensitivity to light in both eyes. She is experiencing no headache. She had just finished a work out at the gym when the symptoms came on quite suddenly. A cool washcloth over her eyes is helping a bit with the pain.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HELLO,
i can understand your concern.
based on the history you have given it appears to due to the dehydration caused by the diarrhea and the work out at the gym made it worse.
i would suggest drinking plenty of fluids.
ORS to be taken along with the water to replenish the lost electrolytes due to work out and diarrhea.
rest would be beneficial.
if the diarrhea worsens or the pulse is found to be fast and feeble or your daughter feels dizzy, she would require i.v fluids like ringer lactate for the same.
make her eat foods which are easily digestible.
if the problem persists a course of antibiotics would be required.
tab sporolac would be beneficial.
hope i have answered your concerns.
thanks for choosing HCM
