What Causes Diarrhea And Acidity?
I have had loose or diarrhea with gas & gurgling off & on for the past few weeks. Light in color. No black stools. Can you tell me in your opinion what this may be. It doesn t matter what I eat it happens anyway . Been taking Imodium once a day just so some of my food will stay withe. Going to see my GP tomorrow .

Here are few possibilities.....
-simple functional bowel disease
-gastroenteritis
-parasitic infection.
-if abdominal pain associated and constipation also repeatedly it could be irritable bowel syndrome
Get your stool examined for parasitic egg or trophozoites....
And for pus cells....
You can take empirical antibiotic like ornidazole....
Maintain hydration...
Take more water...
For few days take soft and bland diet...
Banana helpful in replacing lost fluid and electrolyte...
Avoid heavy meal at a time....
Avoid excess spicy food....
Take care....
If long-term problem and hypersensitivity to gluten diet like rye, wheat etc...then it could be celiac disease like malabsorption syndrome ....
If diarrhea still not controlled colonoscopy needed.
