Hi, I have been having bouts of diarrhoea for last 3 weeks. I took normaxin for 2 weeks it settles. But now I ve stopped since my Gp prescribed for 2 weeks. Again I am passing semi loose or loose stool. Can I start taking normaxin again and if so then for how long. Thanks

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Your symptoms seem to be related to a side effect of Normaxin.

Diarrhea is a common side effect of this medication. In this case, I suggest to stop the medication and consult your doctor about an alternative medication.

I suggest you to:
- Use over the counter option like Imodium.
- Use prebiotics.
- Drink liquids.
- Eat plain food.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi,
