What Causes Depression While On Valtrex For Herpes?

Hello, I m a 62-year-old woman who was diagnosed with herpes about a month ago. I ve been taking valtrex every day since my diagnosis. I ve also been taking Effexor for several years along with ability and klonopin. Recently I think I m feeling a little bit more depressed and am thinking about stopping the valtrex unless I have another herpes episode. Should I stop the valtrex for now or not? This website should mention the fact that you have to pay before getting a reply, first thing. How low! Now you have my email address and also the nature of my condition.

HI, thanks using healthcare magic

You can consider stopping the valtrex at this point unless otherwise told to continue by your doctor.

Most persons use the anti viral medications such as valtrex, intermittently, when they get a flare up.
If you get frequent flare ups, then you can take the medication continuously to prevent the flares.

I hope this helps
