What Causes Dent On Back Of Head?

My 16 yr old son just came and asked me to feel the back of his head because it doesn t feel right. So, I did and he has a dent about 3 fingers wide in the middle of the back of his head. I have been cutting his hair since he was a toddler and this dent is new. It feels soft but firm, I didn t want to push too hard. He says he can t remember hitting his head anytime recently. What could this be?

HI. This is very rare - finding such a soft dent without history of trauma. The only thing that can confirm is a clinical examination by neurosurgeon and confirmation by CT or MRI.
