What Causes Delayed Periods?

Hi, I am 9 days late on my period. My periods are usually very regular. I have also had many symptoms of pregnancy, urine test and blood test both come back negative? But a test did not show positive until i was 9 weeks pregnant with my first child? Could you maybe explain what may be going on?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi dear..few causes for delay in periods are hormonal imbalance, stress, anxiety, any obstruction, and off course pregnancy will stop your periods..However you have already done the UPT and blood test, my advice is after 7 weeks of delay you repeat the above test because it sometimes takes a delay in rising HCG level which is getting detected in a strip..also confirm through USG..if all the test are negative then consult a gynaecologist for examination and also get your FSH and LH level..hope this will help you
