What Causes Delayed Periods?

Pls Doctor, I saw my period on the 12th of nov 2014 after I gave birth since july. I had 'unprotected' sex on the 16th of Nov 2014 i.e the last day of my cycle, unprotected' because my husband used a condom but it removed in me during the course of the intercourse. Am expecting my period today but its not coming. I used diclofenac during d course of the month due to general body pains, pls is d drug d cause of d delay or I might be pregnant. I really need an urgent response as am not ready for another baby yet. In case am preg, what drug should I use to abort the pregnancy. Thank you.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
I understand your concern.
* You had first menstruation 3-4 months after child birth. That is normal. It is because you were breast feeding.During breast feeding mostly menses are irregular. You had unprotected sex on last day of your period, it's less likely to be risky for conception.
So also, your menstruation can be late this month due to that. Please don't be tense.
If it bothers you more,Get your blood HCG test done now/UPT after 8-10 days delay in period to exclude pregnancy.
* In case you are pregnant, you cam use MTP kit under a gynecologist 's care.
* Though lactation is said to have a natural protection for family planning, it should not be relied upon blindly.
- One should seriously think of family planning devise & select it under a gynecologist's guidance- to start using it.
Thanks.
