Hello,

I can understand your concern. A very common side effect observed with i pill is it changes the menstrual cycle by changing the hormone levels to prevent pregnancy.

Thus, your wife's cycle has changed being the 8th day after taking the pill as the day one of the new cycle. She can expect her next period according to that new date. Currently observed abdominal pain may ne due to ovulation if around 2 weeks has passed sine the last new period.

If the abdominal pain does not go away in 2-3 days on its own, you should visit a physician to diagnose the reason for that as it could be stomach-related reason.

I hope this information helps you and your wife. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. Let me know if you have any follow up questions.

Best,
Dr. Viraj Shah
