What Causes Delayed Periods And Pain In The Lower Back And Shoulders?

Hello. I am a month late for my period. I have been having really bad pains in my lower back and shoulder blades. I have gained weight and am fatigued. I got my tubes tied 3 years ago. I took a pregnancy test and it said negative. I also get slight cramps from time to time on my lower left abdominal area. Any idea?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI there. It is very difficult to diagnose a condition that can cause delayed periods, especially after a surgery for contraception as there can be multiple conditions that can result in delayed periods , from Simple Anemia to Hormonal imbalance.
If you could provide some more details to understand your problem better like-
-When did you take pregnancy test?
-Do you have any other symptoms related to change in dietary, bowel and bladder habits?
-Have you had any ultrasound examination done?
-An blood tests you have done recently?
