What Causes Delayed Periods After Unprotected Intercourse?

Am I possibly pregnant? Due to my birth control prescription running out last month, and my job requiring all of my attention, I stopped taking it; Nov 13 was supposed to be the first day of a new pack. Within the last 2 weeks, i have had unprotected sex twice. After the second time, which was last Saturday, I took a home pregnancy test and it was negative. I was supposed to start my period 2 days ago ( for some reason, i always start on Wednesdays and am done the following Sunday), but I still haven t started it. I took 2 pregnacy tests within these last 2 days, one the day I was supposed to start it and today, and both were negative. I am going to see my OBGYN next month and have finally called in to get my prescription refilled. Needless to say, I am freaking out as I do not want children

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I have read your description and understand your concern.
Since you are not on birth control pills and you are having unprotected intercourse, the chances of you becoming pregnant seems to be more.
It appears that you have taken pregnancy tests at a early stage and hence might have got the results negative.
If the delay in periods continues, kindly take urine pregnancy test again after a week to know about the status. Kindly consult Gynecologist with the results for further evaluation and management.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
