What Causes Delayed Periods After Taking I Pill?

Hi doc, I got my last periods on 1jan..i had sex on 18 jan...on 19 i took an i pill. On 27 jan i observed some brownish strands discharged.but that ws just fr a day....today is 2 feb and i cant see any sign of my periods...i am worried weather the i pil hs worked or nt?

The I-pill usually works. However, since it causes a hormonal disturbance the cycle may loose the rhythm. However, do get a urine pregnancy test done and be reassured.
