What Causes Delayed Periods After Taking Duphaston?
Hi.. I have a regular monthly cycle since then. But this february i had a spotting 2 weeks after my menstruation which is last february 1. All i can see is a brown blood stain for about 3-4 drops on my underwear. This is not normal for i always have my monthly cycle regaularly. And then last march 3 i went to my ob and got a negative pregnancy test. She then gave me duphaston. Until now im not menstrating but the pt is still negative. Im now worried.. What is happening to me??? Thanks a lot..
Hi, after stopping duphaston, it takes one to two weeks for periods to come. So, if periods don't come after 2 weeks also, repeat a pregnancy test. If negative, you may need a combination of estrogen and progesterone for inducing periods. Also get a thyroid profile and prolactin levels and a ultrasound for your uterus and ovaries done to find out the cause of irregular periods. It can be because of infection also. You may need some antibiotics for that. Discuss with your doctor regarding this.
