I stopped taking my birth control halway through the pack, I started bleeding a few days later.That bleeding lasted a few days. My period should have started 5 days ago. Feel cramping and signs of oncoming period but no period. Negative pregnancy test

Hi,

Since you stopped the oral contraceptive pills midway, you experienced the breakthrough bleeding.

As the bleeding persisted for a few days, the endometrial shedding may have been complete. You cannot expect another menstrual period as per your expected date in the current scenario. Pregnancy is unlikely in this situation as return of ovulation occurs in a couple of months after stopping oral hormone contraception. Your symptoms could mean hormone imbalance or an impending period.
