What Causes Delayed Periods After Insertion Of Ureteral Stent?
I had a stone in my urinary track. Which was removed by lassr operation and stent was placed. It has not been removed till now. It had been 8 days . But my periods are delayed 5 days. My rmstent removal date is 25th january. Should i get it removed or wait for my periods. Does stent in the body delayed the menstrual cycle. Plz reply
Hello, After reading your question thoroughly I want to explain you that ureteral stent is not related to your menstrual cycle. If you have difficulty urinating, burning or stinging sensation during urination or other urinary complaints then in that case your stent might be kind of responsible. Generally delay in periods are caused due to variety of physiological/normal stress factors, varying hormonal levels etc. Given your stressful situation I think you can wait for a week to get your periods. Sometimes it is even common that women miss a month of periods. If this prolongs for over 2 to 3 months or there is intense bleeding then that is a different situation altogether. Right now I do not think you need to worry about not getting your periods. In the meantime if you are married or had sexual intercourse recently then I would suggest you a urine pregnancy test as well just to be sure.
