What Causes Delayed Periods After IUD Removal?

Hi...I had a copper IUD removed during my last cycle which started 19 th of november. I had it removed on the 22nd. I still don't have a period....is that normal. I know I am not pregnant since have not been intimate since removal. Is delayed period normal after iud removal?

Hello,

Yes, it can happen. Sometimes, after removal of IUD there is delay in periods as there is hormonal imbalance. It can also be due to stress, habitat chance. As you were not sexually active after copper T removal, there is less likely that you are pregnant. Still, you can confirm as there is still a chance of contraceptive failure.

Have healthy diet, remove stress. If there is 1 month delay in periods, get a UPT test followed by hormonal pills or as advised by your doctor.
