What Causes Delayed Period?

Hi, I was taking birth control Sprintec for only a month then stopped due to getting depressed. It has been 2 months and the depression is gone but my periods have not came back yet. I took 2 pregnancy tests and they came back negative. I was wondering how long until I get my period back?

OBGYN, Maternal and Fetal Medicine 's  Response
Hi,

I think that I would suggest you to start a course of Medroxyprogesterone tablet 10 mg for 5 days and wait for 3 weeks for periods to occur. Also, I would suggest you to do thyroid profile test and prolactin test done.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Sujoy S. Bhattacharjee, OBGYN, Maternal and Fetal Medicine
