What Causes Delayed Period With History Of Ectopic Pregnancy?

Was supposed to get my period yesterday but it never cam thought it would come today but it hasn t took an ultra sensitive pregnancy test and it s negative ( I ve have one successful pregnancy and a year ago I had an ectopic so now I m worried and wondering if I could still be pregnant or is it just a messed up cycle

Hi! thanks for your query on ectopic pregnancy...

After going through your present problem and considering your past bad obstetric history, I would like to comment as follows:

1. you should wait up to 15 days after the due date and better then do a pregnancy test; sometimes physiologically the periods could be delayed without any significant cause!

2. history of ectopic pregnancy is a risk factor for another ectopic; therefore you are right to be conscious!

3. ectopic pregnancy is associated with pain and sudden vaginal bleeding following period of amenorrhea; therefore you need to wait to confirm pregnancy first; then get an ultrasound...!
