General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Of course, spironolactone may cause some menstrual irregularity in about 20% of the cases when used for treatment of PCOS. Rest of the symptoms may be related to low level of testosterone including depression related symptoms due to low level of testosterone.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
