What Causes Delayed Period After Having Unprotected Sex While On EllaOne?

Hello I need some advice, I had unprotected sex last Sunday and I took EllaOne on the Wednesday, it been 8 days and I ve still not had my period yet, normally mine are irregular anyway but I was meant to be due for my period the day that I took the tablet, can someone give me advice as I m so confused and unsure of what to do at this point:(

Hello.
I have gone through your question and understand your concern. My advice is, do a urine pregnancy test to rule out pregnancy. Emergency contraceptives work when taken within 48 hrs of intercourse. Remember stress also delay periods, make sure you are not stressed with the fear of pregnancy as it will further delay periods. To avoid this bring home a quality pregnancy testing kit from pharmacy and collect first early morning mid stream urine sample, follow the instructions over the kit to obtain accurate results. If the test come negative wait and relax till you get your periods. Good luck. Hope your concern is answered. Thank You.
