What Causes Delayed Menstruation?

I used to have regular periods but suddenly I missed my periods and have no periods from 52 days. I tried to take a pregnancy test but it is negative. I m worried now if it is pregnancy or any other problem. I started going to gym everyday and have hypothyroidism.

Hi,

Hypothyroidism can cause delayed periods and get a thyroid function test done and start on thyroxine tablets to bring back your thyroid status back to normal. You can consult an endocrinologist and he will direct you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,

Dr. Shinas Hussain
