What Causes Delayed Growth In The Follicle?

I done follicular study from day 10 and also put HCG 10000 on day 14. My follicle size was 2.6*2.5 cm on day 15. Et was 9 mm. Today again took u/s scan and the follicle size and et remains same. My lab technician informed it could turn into cyst and come to ultrasound tomorrow also. But I regularly ovulate on my own.. Is it a problem?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Usually, the size of the follicles to ovulate should be 1.8-2.2 cm. Yours were ok around 2.6*2.5 to seem to be the size of the cyst.

However, follicles have an egg inside while cyst not. That's why the radiologist did give time for another ultrasound tomorrow as the follicle size remains the same.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
