What Causes Delay In Periods?

My period was suppose to start the 17 of this month but it has now been three days late. I took 2 pregnancy test and both said negative. Me and my fiance had unprotected sex for a while now. the last time had sex with out prtection was about 2 weeks ago. So should i go to the doctor to see if im pregnant

Unprotected sex 2 weeks ago falls in the midcycle period which is the fertile window. The egg is released 14 days prior to the next expected menses. Period of about one week around that day is fertile period. You had sexual relations in fertile window. So you have to consider the possibility of pregnancy rather seriously.

You have performed pregnancy test rather too early. These tests on urine are supposed to give reliable results after about a week of missed period; earlier they may report false negative results.

So please repeat the test again after 4 more days on overnight morning first urine sample. Alternatively you may opt for Beta hCG test on your blood. This test is very specific and sensitive and will report precisely the pregnancy status.
