General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Periods are typically absent while breast feeding and it is called as lactational amenorrhea. Generally it will return by six to eight months. If periods persistently delayed, bettet to consult a gynaecologist and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family physician
