What Causes Delay In Periods Despite Taking Contraceptive Pill?

Hi, I am 23 years old and have been on the pill for a few years. I am very regular normally with my period coming the first or second day of the sugar pill, I normally also have a medium to heavy flow. This time I m experiencing the pain but I have no blood, I am on day 4 of the sugar pill and would normall have my period by now. This is also not the first time it s happened. I have experienced this once before about two months ago. I know I m not pregnant because I haven t had sex in atleast a year. Should I be concerned, should I see my doctor?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The use of oral contraceptives can sometimes cause a delay in periods or decrease the intensity of the period.

This means that this is not abnormal so you do not need to be worried at this stage.

If you remain concerned then you can see your doctor for an assessment.

I hope this helps
