What Causes Delay In Periods And Lower Back Pain After Taking Ella?
I took Ella one about 4/5 days before ovulation. I am now 2 weeks late for my period. I keep getting cramps and lower back pain but no period. I have taken a couple of pregnancy tests since my missed period which have come back negative. I also has a white milky discharge in my panties. I m concerned that I might be pregnant.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern... Yes intake of ella should be responsible for delay in periods and lower back pain you are facing. You are not pregnant as your 2 pregnancy test have come negative. Temporary delay in menstruation is common after intake of ella. This is due to disruption of menstrual cycle by ella.Your periods would follow soon. Actually ella is an emergency contraceptive & it contains Ulipristal acetate ( a selective progesterone receptor modulator. It has success of 70 to 80% in preventing pregnancies. Therefore you should not worry about getting pregnant. For lower back pain you could take anti-inflammatory medicines like paracetamol/ibuprofen.
Refer to a gynaecologist, if problem persists Hope this information helps
