What Causes Delay In Periods After Taking Ella Pill?

Hi, my husband and I had unprotected sex October 9. A few hours after that I took the Ella pill. My period is late and I took a 2 different pregnancy tests on Wednesday Nov.11 and it came out negative within seconds. My question is, is it possible that the Ella messed up my period cycle ? And is it possible that the Ella didn t work ? I heard that women who were pregnant before are more easily to get pregnant quicker?

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...

Yes Ella pill have delayed your periods. You have also done pregnancy tests also, which is negative & hence you are not pregnant.
The delayed periods are due to high dose of hormone levonorgestrel 1.5 mg contained in emergency contraceptive pill such as ELLA. Hence your period might be early or late for next two cycles. This is a known side effect of taking emergency contraceptive pill.
Please use condoms or other methods of contraception to prevent unwanted pregnancy in future.
As per your second query, yes you could get pregnant in the future if you have unprotected sex. There is same chances of you getting pregnant as it was earlier.
If problem still persist visit a gynaecologist
