What Causes Delay In Menstrual Bleeding Post An Unprotected Intercourse?
Hi, I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend and he pulled out when he was ejaculating but some staff were in side of me. The next day we bought a morning after but I still have not got my periods. This all happened in October 2016. And now my breasts are sore and I have stomach pains. Am I pregnant? Please help I do not want the baby.
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Pull out method does carry a risk of becoming pregnant. If the pull out method is not performed properly as you are stating, and if the ejaculate fluid remains inside, the chances of becoming pregnant is much more higher. Based on your description, it states that you took morning-after pill next day after this episode. Morning-after pill is a form of emergency contraceptive pill, which needs to be taken within 72 hours of unprotected intercourse. The pill would prevent pregnancy by causing withdrawal bleeding within 3 weeks from the day of its intake. If the bleeding does not happen by 3 weeks, you need to take a urine pregnancy test and seek medical attention promptly. Such pills carry 10 to 15% of failure rate to protect against pregnancy. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
