What Causes Deformity Of The Fingers?

I am having issues with my fingers/hands involuntarily dropping while I am typing on my computer or phone. It makes me type letters I did not want to type, as I hold my fingers bent over the keyboard, and all of a sudden a finger of the whole hand just drops and I have no control over it. What would be causing that? Barb Urban 11/8/49

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

The finger drop is an issue with nerve compression at the carpel tunnel of the wrist or other structures, due to which the fingers cannot maintain extension position and they flex, drop towards palm surface. In our clinic, after thorough clinical examination, I recommend MRI of the concerned region for final diagnosis.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
