What Causes Dark Red Marks On Legs?

I suddenly felt like a needle prick my leg just below the knee. I looked at my leg and the area looked pinkish and felt warm. Within 5 minutes I kept feeling like a needle was poking me. When I looked at my leg there are lines of red pin marks in streams. There are about 4 streams down my leg and they have dark red to purplish look to them?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have dark red marks on legs. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like keratosis pilaris , folliculitis , eczema , hives or bug bites . I would suggest you to clean the area with warm water twice a day and apply betadine , wear loss cloths and do not apply any cosmetic product . Consult dermatologist for proper examination . Doctor may order skin patch test , allaergy test along with blood test . Doctor may prescribe immunosuppressants , corticosteroid along with anti inflammatory .
