What Causes Dark Discoloration At Tip Of Nose While Having Wegener S Granulomatosis?

Hi I have wegeners granulumotosis which had caused saddle nose. I have no cartledge or septum and am due to go in for rhinoplasty in a few weeks but my nose looks darker at the tip than the rest of my nose. I took a relapse in my condition in March of this year and am back on methotrexate and prednisolone. My email is YYYY@YYYY . Thanks Linda

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear welcome to HealthcareMagic
Regarding your experience with a dark pigmentation at the tip of your nose following a diagnosed wegeners granulomatosis I am suggesting that this is due to deposits of skin pigment called melanin due to a autoimmune reaction from the wegeners disease and chronic use of prednisone

I hope this helps Regards
