What Causes Cyst Or Blister Near Uvula?

Off to the right side of my uvula I can feel a fold of skin and something that feels like a cyst or blister in that area. When I touch it with my tongue it make me want to cough. When I touch the bump it sort of hurts like a burn or something. Would you know what this is?

Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hello,

Until the examination, it is difficult to say what it is. It may be due to viral infection lead to obliteration and rupture lead to ulcer formation. So use salt water gargling thrice a day for five days. If the pain is there apply Mucopain gel. If symptoms not improved, please consult your ENT specialist he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Archana
