What Causes Crying In A Baby Even After Taking A Feed?
I have a two and a half month old son and he eats 4 oz every 3 hours but when i take the bottle from him he gets extremely hysterical like he is still hungry. He usually gives a hunger cry before its time for him to eat. I dont want to over feed him neither do i want him to be hungry. Should he be eating more or not?
I completely understand your concerns. But there are a few things which I would like to tell you. Every infant has different appetites and it's not advisable to restrict it according to any pre set volumes. Since he is in a very important phase of his growth, it's important to nourish him according to his body requirements. We as pediatricians recommend to go for on demand feeding protocol. Baby himself is the best judge for his frequency and quantity of feeds. You have to be just careful about a few points: 1. Offer him feeds if he does not demand anything for more than 4 hours. 2. Constitute the milk formula in proper dilution. Many a times improper dilutions leads to feeding delimmas. 3. Try to go for breastfeeding as far as possible because that is the best milk for your child 4. Maintain utmost hygiene while preparing and giving feeds.
Hopefully this will be helpful. For any further questions, you may send me a direct query. Take care
