Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here..20yrs,1.59m.94.6kgAm abt 5wks pregnant nd did abortion yesterday orally and vaginally then i had blood clottin 3times then started bleedin lightly nd i feel painful cramps cld the abortion be done properly?
From your history, it appears that you have terminated the pregnancy by medicines. It is just 24 hours that the process of your abortion has started. So now your uterus is in the process of contracting to throw out the products of conception. Uterine contractions are causing pain in the abdomen while the process of expulsion of products is causing bleeding. Both the things are normal and expected with the medical termination of pregnancy. Some of the clots could be white which are products of conception.
However, it the bleeding and pain continues, you may get ultrasonography done to assess whether abortion is complete or not. Incomplete abortions (which are very uncommon in medical abortions) may cause continued pain and bleeding. If incomplete abortion, it will have to be completed by surgical evacuation of the uterus.
Even if the bleeding and the pain stops, please report to your Obstetrician for follow up after 7 days of medicines.
I hope this helps you.
