General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Suggestive of simvastatin-induced muscle pain. Simvastatin is an effective cholesterol-lowering medication. Its most common side effects include myopathy (muscle pain, tenderness or weakness), liver dysfunction and stomach upset. Based on the history, you seem to have developed myopathy apparently caused by simvastatin. I advise you to report to your general physician to prescribe an alternate effective but a safer medication to lower your high blood cholesterol.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali
