What Causes Cough And Nasal Discharges In A Baby?

My baby is 6 months old and has had a bad and worsening cough due to tons of snot and drainage. We live in Kosovo and don't know any good doctors, but can buy most drugs at the pharmacy without a prescription. What can we give her to help break up her cough? She's had it for 3 1/2 weeks now and it's gotten into her chest.

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hello,
For small baby it is important that you give the medicine according to the weight of the child.
Amoxicillin with clavulinic acid is better option , the other being azithromycin.
Azithromycin is good for atypical pneumonia.
Find a paediatrician or ent specialist as dosage needs to be set accordingly.
secondly feed the baby in position in which head end is elevated.
do burping without failure after every feed.
In doubt do reply
