What Causes Cough And Laryngitis?

hi, I have had a cpap for about a year with no issues. I don t use the humidifier. About 2 months ago, I developed a cough and pretty severe laryngitis (which I have never had). Yes, I am a smoker, and nothing has changed with that. Long story short, Mucinex took care of the cough, but the laryngitis has been lingering after a round of antibiotics (thinking it was a sinus drain problem) and TWO rounds of prednisone. and we also tried a nasal spray. I DO have some back of the throat drainage, no cough anymore, and never a cold symptom. Would you suggest trying anything different to completely eliminate the laryngitis? I sound like an old creaky voiced woman lol
