What Causes Constipation And Diarrhea?

Hi. I m 41 and lately I ve had issues having a bowel movement. I will go to the bathroom and hardly nothing comes out and if it does, it s more diarrhea looking. This has been going on for about a month now. My diet is ok but can always be better. Is it normal not to have a real bowel movement or enough of 1? I feel my output is not consistent with intake .
