What causes constipation and diarrhea?

Hi. I m 41 and lately I ve had issues having a bowel movement. I will go to the bathroom and hardly nothing comes out and if it does, it s more diarrhea looking. This has been going on for about a month now. My diet is ok but can always be better. Is it normal not to have a real bowel movement or enough of 1? I feel my output is not consistent with intake .

Welcome to healthcare magic..

According to your complain you have problem of alternative constipation and diarrhea that may be because of irritable bowel syndrome.

Bowel problem occurs more than three months than think about irritable bowel syndrome.

Intestinal infection or food intolerance also cause abdominal symptoms.

Stool sample test is helpful for further diagnosis.
Colonoscopy can done for further diagnosis..
