What Causes Constipation And Diarrhea After An Appendectomy?
My son (24) had an appendectomy about 16 months ago. He has since had bouts of constipation and / or diareah. rarely normal bowel movements. also random times severe upset stomach after eating, and not with any particular food. He is also on a medication for depression (prozak)

It is normal to have stomach upset and diarrhea after an appendicectomy. This usually goes away in a few days.
So don't worry and ask your son to keep himself hydrated.
