What Causes Constant Stomach Ache, Nausea, Vomiting, Diarrhea And Weight Loss?

I have spent many years dealing with stomic pain, nasia, vomiting, lots of diarea everyday, and weight loss. I had my appendix out a few years ago and was hoping that would fix the problem but it did not. I have had every test under the sun done and they all come back normal except for the fact that I have an over active gallblader. I did have 2 colonascopys done and the first had an ulcer but GI doc said it was nothing, the second I was in Costa Rica and started bleeding from my rectum and they found that my colon was very enlarged, I have 2 ulcers, and lots of mucus and told me I have ulcertive colitis and to follow up with my US Dr. I need help I am going on dec 30 but don't really know if I should just settel with this dignosis or ask for more test. I want to get better

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Since ulcerative colitis has already been diagnosed by colonoscopy your symptoms of pain in abdomen, diarrhea, nausea and weight loss can be explained.

I hope there would have been biopsy of the ulcers and many blood tests for diabetes, thyroid functions and so on in a way to find the originating cause. If not yet done, request for all the relevant blood tests.

Many a times certain foods and beverages are known to instigate or enhance the problems hence you have to find such factors and stop such things altogether. Avoid stress and anxiety as these are known to enhance the problems.

Rest of the specific medications for ulcerative colitis and their dosages depend upon the stage of the disease, your responses and so on hence please continue as advised by your Doctors in USA.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T Chandrakant
