What Causes Constant Pressure Inside Of Inner Ear?

I have constant pressure inside of my inner ear, caused from what I believe is a fluid build up. If it starts to drain I get a nasty sickly sweet taste in my mouth. However, it never fully drains, not even close. I have gone through a cycle of amoxicillin and a z-pack and the symptoms have not gone away. It has been 3 months now since it began. Also, all four of my wisdom teeth have broken the surface. This happened years ago, but none of them have fully come in. I have a feeling that they are impacted to some degree, but they cause me no pain at all. Could my recurring ear problem be related to my wisdom teeth? Both the teeth and ear have no pain. Also, the gland right behind the earlobe on the affected ear is swollen and fairly hard during the peak of the ear congestion.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Impacted molars can cause referred pain to the ear and since you have no pain at all, the wisdom tooth does not look to be the reason of feeling of pressure in your ear.
Another cause can be an adherent tympanic membrane that is not moving sufficiently hence this feeling. Temporary fluid builds up usually resolves well.
Hence I would advise you the following in such a situation:
Consult your ENT Surgeon for ENT Endoscopy, clinical evaluation and correlation with the following investigations like Audiometry, CT scan of Mastoids and so on.
An appropriate management as p[er the cause will solve your problems.
Do not blow nose.
Use nasal decongestant drops.
And take the proper course of medications as this take a long to resolve.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. T Chandrakant, General Surgeon
