What Causes Constant Pain Near Tailbone Along With Nausea And Cold Sweats?
For years I will have a constant pain near my tailbone that will come on mostly in the middle of the night. Recently when this happens I get cold sweats, nausea, and feeling that I m going to faint or pass out. I also get a strange feeling under my shoulder blade. Any ideas what s going on here?

Hi,
I see two possibilities for the problems you are facing.
- All of this is due to digestive problems like constipation or food allergies or bowel infections. Any of these would result in excessive gas production which in lying down position collects and presses the tail bone and the nerves around to cause the pain.
Same gases when collected under diaphragm at the back side...causes funny feeling under scapular bone in back.
- Another possibility of neurogenic pain due to lumber vertebrae getting pressed in sleeping posture can irritate the nerve roots coming out from vertebral opening such nerves which supply tail bone get irritated to cause the pain.
I would advise you to consult a physician for assessing your health as a whole,come to some conclusion, get few needful investigations done followed by specific treatment to relieve you.
