What Causes Constant Pain In The Back Of Head And Neck Pain?

Hi, I have this constant headache its there with me every day. It all started when I was at the gym That day I was really tired so I took some Preworkout (not for the first time) and I was doing some leg extension and I felt a really big pain in the back of my head (like a grenade was exploding). So I went home because my head was hurting to much and the next day my head was still hurting but I still decided to go to the gym, as I do a pull up I feel again this huge pain at the back of my head so I decided to stop working out for 2 weeks and then the pain was becoming less intense after the first week but I also started to feel pain in my neck and my head wasn t becoming any better. I decided to start working out again and when I was working out I wasn t feeling the huge explosive pain like I first did but my head was still hurting but I tough it out for a good 5 months and then One day again I was at the gym I was doing some leg press and I felt that huge pain again so then I said to myself that s it am done suffering every time I work out so I stopped completely. A bit of weeks after I started feeling some pain at the bottom of my back and also in my jaw but the pain in my jaw and my back are not there constantly like my headache. I also have a scoliosis. I am being followed by a Doctor and I did a MRI of my neck and head and every thing was looking normal on the MRI and I have also tried chiropractor, physiotherapy and acupuncture and nothing worked. So now Its been almost 3 months that I stopped completely exercising and am not feeling better I still have all these symptoms I am waiting to go see a neurologist but its in a long time. The only time that I don t feel a lot of pain in the back of my head and neck is in the morning and then the pain goes up during the day so I have notice that my headache and my neck and all my other symptoms are almost not there when I sleep for a long period of time but when I wake up my symptoms slowly come back. I really need advices what should I do?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

From the way, the pain has started and the long way it's pulling on suggests it to be neurogenic. Seems with the jerk of strong movement, there was some muscle pull or disc problem creating pressure on nerve causing the pain. You need an expert advise after physical examination and are needful of imaging investigation. Till then rest, ice pack, muscle relaxant ointment and anti-inflammatory pill over the counter should help.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
