What Causes Constant Pain In Breast And Nipple While On Benicar With Negative Mammogram?

I HAVE HAD BREAST AND NIPPLE PAIN FOR SEVERAL MONTHS. NEGATIVE MAMMOGRAM LAST WEEK, SWIM 3 MILES A WEEK. 67 YO. TAKE BENICAR, NEXIUM, AND A DIURETIC. AORTIC BICUSPID VALVE REPLACED 3 YEARS AGE SUCCESSFULLY, NO SYMPTOMS. PAIN IN IS LEFT BREAST ONLY, NIPPLE VERY PAINFUL TO TOUCH. SUGGESTIONS?

The negative mammogram is very encouraging, but you should consider having a doctor do a small biopsy of the nipple. There are some inflammatory conditions that can cause pain in the nipple, most are easily treated with steroid cream. However, there are rare forms of cancer that can manifest that way, and would be found on a biopsy, and this could happen even with a negative mammogram.
